The Founder

I’ve been a hair professional since 2013. By 24, I opened my own salon in Sacramento — Class and Sass Salon. That was one of my biggest dreams at the time. I worked hard, built my clientele, and felt proud of what I created.

Then life happened.

After my daughter was born, everything shifted. In 2018, my first husband was deported when our baby was only five months old. Overnight, I went from building my dream to just trying to survive. I was devastated. Depressed. Drowning in debts and responsibilities that weren’t supposed to be mine alone. I had to sell my salon. I almost lost my home. I lost motivation. I lost hope.

The only reason I kept going was my baby and my mom. I refused to let us fall apart. I became a working machine. One day at a time. No big dreams — just survival.

A couple years later, I remarried. My second husband encouraged me to dream again. We talked about rebuilding — but this time, something bigger than just hair. He came up with the name The Annalee Project because my life has never been just one thing. It’s always evolving. Always rebuilding. Always learning.

And then life happened again.

Another deeply personal and painful experience — this time involving a broken court system and family conflict — changed my perspective even more. I started asking bigger questions:

• Why are so many of us stressed, divided, struggling?
• Why do good people fall through and bad people get rewarded? Broken systems?
• Why does survival feel so hard when the earth provides so much?

That’s when The Annalee Project stopped being just about beauty or business.

It became a mission.

What We’re Really Building

Most of us are born good. Happy. Capable.

Like every living thing, we should be able to survive and thrive from what Mother Nature freely provides. But somewhere along the way, we built systems that disconnect us from land, from community, and from each other. We turned everything into stress, debt, and pressure.

The Annalee Project is about coming back to balance.

Not tearing things down — but building something better.

We believe we can:

The Project

There’s a cycle of life to everything! A tree grows from a seed, when under the right care and conditions, it develops roots, grows, blooms, and bears fruits. Hence, to solve today’s society’s problems, we have to start at the roots: our individuals, our kids, our families, along with discipline, education, housing, environment, and more.

If we put together well-mannered, disciplined, educated, healthy, and wealth-minded individuals, we’ll have a respectable, hardworking, smart-working, and responsible generations. They will be able to help themselves and the people around them and thrive in any circumstance.

Everything is connected, from the living to nature, to Earth. There will be no Future Generation if there is no Future Earth. Our sustainable projects shall revolve around the cycle of life and restoring nature. Anyone can plant a tree and benefit from it.

Our projects are created to educate and help as many people as we can to prevent poverty and homelessness from the roots, to teach what schools do not, and to continue passing down good lost virtues to generations. Not everyone was born at the finish line, but we can learn to break the cycle and skip a few steps to set up our kids to be closer than we ever were. We have visions for finding solutions to this problem, and taking steps in the right direction is our ultimate goal. However, we can’t do it alone! We need your help to bring this project to life!
