As a hair professional since 2013, Annalee has strived to become one of the most sought-after hair specialists in the Sacramento/Carmichael, California. At the age of 23, Annalee achieved one of her life goals by opening her very own Class and Sass Salon. After the birth of her daughter, Annalee decided to step away from her career to focus on her family. Fast forward to December 2019. She has once again reopened a new chapter in her life as well as her professional career.

That would be a typical happy ending story everyone want to tell. But let’s be real! Our lives are not straight lines, there are ups and downs as Humans, we often make mistakes, wrong decisions and fail, multiple times, but the best part of being a Human is that we have the ability to learn and do better.

My first ex-husband was deported in 2018 when our baby was 5 months old. I was devastated, depressed, stressed, lost all interest in my passion and eventually caused me to struggle with debts and responsibilities he left me with. There are no words to describe the situation I was in. I had to sell my salon and almost lost my home, I’ve lost everything I’ve worked hard for in a short period of time, especially lost my motivation and hope. The only thing that kept me going were my baby and my mother, I wouldn’t let them be on the street. I became a working machine and my only goal was to make it through life one day at a time. Nearly two years gone by, I met and married my 2nd husband, who convinced me to continue with my dreams and pick up where I left off. We tossed around a few ideas for names and he came up with, The Annalee Project because I wanted a name for more than just hair. My dreams and visions are like an ongoing project. As we all know, projects generally take lots of time and effort. Then, after experiencing another tremendous personal dramatic and unjust events with this corrupted Court system between my 2nd husband and his children’s mother that led to our divorce, it curved and changed my perspective of life and everything around me once more, so I created this system to potentially help solving some of the many problems we have nowadays in our society, from within ourselves, our family systems, our environment and educational system, that have failed us and lead us to homelessness and mental health issues, so no one has to go through what we went through again. And, if anyone is going to do it, it would more likely be someone like us, those in the middle generations, who have seen and experienced what has been working and what didn’t work from the older and younger generations. We get to see the best of both worlds and are trying to pick, learn and improve upon what didn’t work, to find a solution, a middle ground, a better system that could work for all generations physically, mentally, and culturally.

Most of us are originally good and happy, like other living things, any of us should be able to survive and thrive from what has been given free from mother nature. However, as we grow, we become greedy and take advantage of her and turn everything into a piece of paper that creates stress, that leads to poor decision making, and mental health issues within ourselves. The Annalee Projects will help lead us back closer to our origin, where we don’t have to rely on any broken system to survive and be happy. We want to prove that with the right support system, people will maintain good, healthy, and happy lives. This could be the start of a big change.

Even in my darkest hours, there were always wonderful people who helped me get through the days. Now that I’ve gotten back on my feet, I want to be there for you in your dark times as well.
